Heather Grilley
With early family roots established in Indianapolis proper, Heather lived in the northeast side of the city all of her early life and graduated from Lawrence Central High School. With college in her sights, she did not travel far from home base to study fine arts at Ball State University, and later, to the Purdue University School of Construction & Engineering to obtain both her associate's degree in Construction Project Management and a bachelor's degree in Commercial Interior Design.
Heather began her career as a commercial interior designer for various well-known Indianapolis firms where she spearheaded projects for the local headquarters offices of Delta Faucet, Australian Gold, Interactive Intelligence, and Blackboard (among others). She served in this capacity for many years working as a senior designer and project lead who managed junior design staff and marketed new clients while executing and overseeing all phases of each project to completion. She also worked for a stretch as a regional product sales representative for a large commercial carpet company that helped to round out her understanding of the business from multiple perspectives and broadened her net of industry contacts throughout the state.
When a former client, Interactive Intelligence, reached out in 2011 to offer her a position in facilities department she jumped at the chance. In this role, she managed every facet as it relates to the physical space for both the headquarters location in Indianapolis and in many of the company's 44 international offices. The vast umbrella of tasks included; managing a team of support staff, employee programming & coordination, space acquisition, interior design & layout, general contractor bidding, furniture procurement, move management, supply order and stocking, office-supply vendor contracts/negotiations and personally installing and opening both domestic and international offices.
During her time at Interactive Intelligence, Heather used the skills she had acquired through her career to partner with her father and brother to provide insight and consultation on various re-branding, design and remodeling projects that the Schmoll Development Company had begun. This partnership turned into a full-time position in the spring of 2015 when she came on board to spearhead the design & architectural coordination, contractor bidding, value-engineering, material acquisition and project management of various upcoming exterior remodeling projects within the Industrial Park. Since her time in the family business, she has also taken on shared responsibility for tenant communication & property management, exterior signage & standards, interior tenant improvement initiatives, lease consulting, marketing updates and special projects throughout the Park.

Heather enjoys spending time with her husband and two children. She is passionate about traveling and relishes new experiences. She also loves undertaking any creative type of project - especially various remodeling efforts to update her vintage-modern style home.
